We are sure many of you are aware of the ,Momo Challenge, through news and social media. As our pupils have full access to all areas of this website we felt it better not to dwell too much on it here. Be assured that we regularly talk about Internet Safety in school, in February we had our Internet Safety Day. We have talked once again to the upper school about Keeping Safe while using the Internet, in light of recent events. We trust that you as parents also talk to your child about Keeping Safe while using the Internet and what your child should do if something happens that makes them feel uncomfortable. Should you wish a copy of an Information sheet about the above challenge you can contact the school office or look it up on the Carr Facebook page.
The school day begins at 8.55am with pupils lining up in an orderly fashion in the playground. This provides a settled start to the day’s learning.
Break time runs from 10.30am-10.45am and lunch from 12.15pm-1pm. We operate a healthy break policy where we encourage children to bring fruit or vegetables for their break, with an open choice on a Friday. Children are also encouraged to drink water throughout the day. Reception and P1 children have a healthy break provided for a small charge.
We also encourage children to bring a healthy balanced meal to school for lunch time. The school kitchen also provides healthy meals for those children wishing to take a school dinner. Pupils are supervised for playtime outside after they eat their lunch.
We offer a waiting club for P1-P3 pupils from 1.50pm-3pm/4pm. Waiting Club for P4-7 is offered from 3-4pm. Also, a breakfast club is available for all pupils from 8am. Both clubs incur a small charge.
